Tuscan Cooking Class and Market Tour

We dedicate our cooking sessions to those who wish to learn recipes and techniques for the preparation of a sunny, healthy Tuscan and Mediterranean cuisine, based just on local fresh ingredients.

Whatever your level of culinary experience, the cooking school is passionate about involving you in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that is imbued in Tuscan culture and traditions.

Our culinary creations will be paired with special wines of the local most prestigious IGT and DOC appellations.

The cooking lesson is in Italian and English and is available every day in the morning or in the afternoon and could be at our house or yours.

Before cooking, we will enjoy shopping together for our fresh ingredients from our local producers.

Special Market Days

Thursdays and Saturdays are special days here and if your cooking class could be on either of these days, on request, we will also tour and do our shopping together in the local weekly market in Camucia (Thursday) or in Cortona (Saturday). We will taste and learn about typical products, buying our organic fresh ingredients directly from local producers, all while learning a little bit of Italian as well. It will be fun!

Tuscan Menu

We’ll prepare the number of courses that you will prefer in your menu, always including the homemade traditional pasta.

3 Course Menu
First dish consisting of typical homemade local pasta, a second dish and dessert.

4 course Top Menu (like in the Italian Sunday family lunch)
Antipasti (appetizers), first dish with homemade local typical pasta, second course with side dish and dessert.

Pizza & Co.

The very symbol of Italian cuisine, well-known and appreciated all over the world. Wherever you go, you’ll always find pizza, however the genuine one can be eaten only in Italy and much better if made by a true Neapolitan! We'll start from scratch with the importance of good ingredients to prepare the perfect dough, raising, rolling, stretching and baking the different types of pizza and schiacciata (flat bread).

Pizza and Dessert - 2 course menù
We’ll learn how to make pizza with different toppings and fragrant schiacciata that will be served at lunch matched to our local wines.
Tiramisù or caprese cake (almonds and chocolate cake), or another Italian Traditional dessert will conclude this menu.

Pasta and Pizza - 3 course menù
For carbohydrates lovers! We will learn how to prepare the homemade local typical pasta and sauce as first course. The second course will be pizza with different toppings and fragrant schiacciata that will be served matched to our local wines.
Tiramisù or caprese cake (almonds and chocolate cake), or another Italian Traditional dessert will conclude this menu.

Useful information

The service includes 3-4 hours of hands-on lesson, a recipe book in English, your own apron and a meal with the prepared dishes paired with local white and red wines.

The cooking classes could be at our house for 2 to 8 people.

Alternatively, the cooking classes could be held where you are staying, at no additional charge within the Cortona district. Minimum 2 people.

For those who don’t want to cook, it is also possible to have only the meal.

Special dietary requests are welcome and we kindly ask that you inform us at reservation.

The menus and ingredients are seasonal and subject to availability of products in the local markets.

Snacks along with soft drinks and coffee are included for a light work-break to hold you over until the meal.
